Hand not working while writing? This is NOT normal. This is a success story of writer’s cramp (focal hand dystonia) - a condition where the hand stops cooperating while writing, grip becomes abnormal, fingers twist, and writing becomes difficult or uncontrolled. This patient had a mixed type writer’s cramp with both: Flexor muscle overactivity Extensor muscle overactivity -leading to poor grip control, abnormal pen holding, finger posturing, and loss of smooth writing movement. A detailed clinical and functional assessment was done to understand: • Which muscles are overactive • Where the coordination is breaking down • How the brain–muscle pattern is disturbed Based on this, a targeted treatment plan was designed: USG-guided intramuscular Botox injections for precise muscle correction Neuro-rehabilitation protocol including: – Writing retraining (different textures & surfaces) – Grip training and fine motor correction – Mirror therapy (brain retraining) – Air writing and motor control exercises Alongside this, the patient also had severe back pain from prolonged sitting, which was treated separately with: C-arm guided minimum spinal interventions Postural and ergonomic correction Outcome: Improved hand control, better writing ability, and functional recovery If you are searching for: writer’s cramp treatment” “difficulty writing properly” “hand not working while writing” “fingers not moving properly while writing” “abnormal grip while writing” “focal dystonia hand treatment
